MapWaisai City is one of the districts in Raja Ampat Regency, West Papua Province, Indonesia. Waisai City is also the capital and central government of Raja Ampat Regency. Waisai is on Waigeo Island which is a group of Raja Ampat Islands.
Raja Ampat famous for its natural beauty and biodiversity, many local and foreign tourists who visit enjoy the beauty and for research.
The native people of this archipelago are ethnic Biak tribe, Maya, Ondoloren settled. Most of the original inhabitants of Raja Ampat are subsistence communities who live simple, traditional with the target only limited to fulfilled daily needs. In this area there is also the tradition of eating betel nut to strengthen the fraternity as usual other regions in Indonesia.
Raja Ampat was accidentally discovered by a Dutch diver. In 1990, he visited this area with the intent to search for the existence of aircraft and ships remnants of World War II. It turned out that Max Ammer was fascinated by the beauty of this place and another time he invited an Australian fisherman, Gerry Allen, to do research on this place. The initial goal of the arrival of Max Ammer also bears fruit, in this area many found wrecks and ships remnants of war remnants. Since then Raja Ampat has been known to the world and has become increasingly popular with foreign tourists. So, in a way, the wealth of Raja Ampat is not only the diversity of its biota, but also its historical wealth.
